Parcels from Finland: checking delivery availability

Old delivery articles do not confirm that a shipment can be accepted now. Before handing over goods, contact FiniTrans to confirm whether your particular shipment is possible.

Availability and terms for this trip require separate confirmation

What to include in your enquiry

  • Where collection and delivery are required.
  • Shipment contents, dimensions and weight.
  • Who hands over and receives the items, and the required timing.

How delivery worked in the previous description

The website previously described a separate parcel service: collection in Finland, agreeing a tracking number and recipient, handover in Saint Petersburg and discussion of onward shipping to another Russian region. Requests included online shop purchases and parcels from individuals, sole proprietors and organisations.

This information is preserved as a description of a former service. Do not send a shop order to the old receiving address: current recipient details, acceptance, contents and every delivery stage must be confirmed in advance. This page does not announce current acceptance of international shipments.

A parcel to Finland and a shipment from Finland

The previous text covered sending belongings in both directions. To discuss a specific task, give the sender’s and recipient’s towns, contents, package count, dimensions and weight. Transport arrangements do not replace documentation for the goods or grounds for moving them across the border.

Passenger services to Finland are currently suspended and are not an operating delivery channel. Timing, permitted contents, handover procedures and liability require separate confirmation before a parcel is handed over. Agree the dispatch route and confirmation of receipt before buying or handing over items.

Confirmation before handing over belongings

Transport availability, permitted contents, price and liability must be agreed separately. Do not send a parcel based on an old description or an unconfirmed arrangement. Current passenger routes do not mean every cargo shipment is automatically accepted.

What to confirm before handing over a shipment

Sending a parcel differs from a passenger journey: before handing over goods, you must separately confirm whether the shipment is accepted, who sends and receives it, the addresses and the contents. A service description on the old website does not mean parcels are currently accepted or that a set tariff applies.

Do not bring a shipment without agreeing it with the dispatcher. For an initial enquiry, a description of the contents, approximate dimensions and route is enough. Permission to move the goods and documentation are checked separately; a closed Finland route cannot be replaced by a promise of delivery through another checkpoint.
