Travel to Helsinki via Tallinn (Estonia): a solution is available! 17.12.2023 23:53As everyone knows, Finland's government closed its borders on 15 December 2023, effectively before it had time to reopen them. It did open two crossings nearest major cities such as Saint Petersburg and Petrozavodsk on 14 December 2023, but later that evening decided to close the borders the next day. At the same time, the Finnish government announced the next reopening for as late as 14 January 2024. Whether the borders will reopen at all, and whether they will do so on 14 January 2024, is now highly uncertain.
We have found a solution! In fact, we developed the new route back in November–December during the first closure of the Russian–Finnish border. It goes through Estonia (Tallinn): we depart from Saint Petersburg, cross the Russian–Estonian border, continue to Tallinn’s port, board the ferry together and sail to Helsinki. On arrival, we take you to your destination, whether Helsinki railway station or Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. Unlike similar carrier offers, we do not ask passengers to cross the Russian–Estonian border independently on foot and then change transport to reach Helsinki. We are a responsible carrier: you complete all border and customs procedures with us, in the same bus that left Saint Petersburg, under the guidance of our experienced drivers!
A transfer from Saint Petersburg to Helsinki via Estonia is one of the best and most practical options today! Consider this: road travel time is exactly the same as from Saint Petersburg to Helsinki, with only a two-hour ferry crossing added. Passengers generally do not get bored on the ferry: there are cosy cafés, good duty-free shopping, live music and slot machines for those who enjoy gambling. Time will fly by and the journey will be comfortable!
