Night journey and visa issues

Nighttime does not change entry requirements. Old offers of short visa-related trips are neither a current timetable nor a guarantee of crossing the border.

How to discuss an overnight route

  • Check the grounds and requirements for travel separately.
  • For transport, give the date, addresses and preferred time.
  • Please remember that FiniTrans trips to Finland are currently suspended.

Night departure as a travel format

The old page described a late departure and return after a short stay, avoiding the use of the whole following day. It listed particular weekdays and collection times. These belong to a past period and do not establish a current schedule.

For an actual overnight route, pickup time, convenient boarding, the final address and rest stops matter. Such a plan within Russia can be discussed separately. The former method of counting days by border stamps is not a basis for offering a visa service.

Night travel and duration

If the journey is permitted and transport is available, departure time is discussed according to the route. Old “two days by border stamps” arrangements are not offered as a current service. For travel in Russia, you can describe any overnight route you need.

Why this page has no night departure

The old title does not mean an overnight trip to Finland is currently operating. Do not plan using former departure times or promises to return by morning. An actual transport request requires a date, route points and confirmation that the journey can be provided.

If you need a route within Russia or to Ivangorod, describe it in your own words: pickup address, destination, passengers and luggage. Continuing in Estonia and meeting partners after crossing independently require separate arrangements. You do not need to submit document copies in the route description form.

Currently serving Russia and Tallinn

Within Russia, any destination from Saint Petersburg. To Ivangorod, the Russian section. To Tallinn, with an independent border crossing and pickup by Estonian partners in Narva.
